COCIR taking a leading role on eHealth at World of Health IT

COCIR, member of the World of Health IT Organizing Committee, will be present at the WoHIT Conference and Exhibition 2011, which will be held in Budapest from 10 to 12 May 2011. A COCIR stand will be accessible throughout the event.

COCIR will take part in several strategic discussions, including the following:

- Nicole Denjoy, COCIR Secretary General, will be a panelist in the parallel session on cross-border healthcare (PS6) on 11 May;

- Jean-Pierre Thierry will present in the “eHealth and policy development internal market” session (PS13) on 12 May;

- Christoph Westerteicher (deputy Chair of the COCIR Telemedicine Focus Group) will participate in the session “Remote Monitoring – new opportunities for chronic disease management” (PL4) on 12 May;

- Last but not least, the COCIR session (PS23), scheduled on 12 May from 15:15 to 16:30, will provide an update on the current situation in the European healthcare IT and telemedicine industry sectors.  Three presentations and a panel discussion, based on real world case studies, will stimulate debate on the implementation of eHealth solutions, clinical outcomes and return on investment in three specific domains: clinical information systems, shared infrastructures and telemedicine solutions. The COCIR panel will be chaired by Eric Maurincomme, Chair of the COCIR Healthcare IT Committee Chair, with input from Bernard Algayres, Patrice Cristofini and Ileana Welte.

COCIR will also be present at different side-events:

- COCIR HITC meeting (9 May – closed event);

- AMDM 1st CEE eHealth Academy (9 May), in which COCIR Secretary General has been invited to deliver a presentation;

- Nicole Denjoy will represent COCIR at the Regional Forum of the Assembly of European Regions (10 May) as well as in the eHealth Innovation Project Workshop (10 May).
