EU-US HIGH-LEVEL REGULATORY COOPERATION

In September 2012, European Commission (including DG Trade, DG Enterprise and DG SANCO) initiated with its counter part in the US an initiative on regulatory convergence. Since the start of this initiative, COCIR has been active and cooperating closely with MITA (US Trade association).

In October 2012, COCIR and MITA  provided a first round of contribution identifying specific priorities for our industry.

US President Obama, EU Council President Van Rompuy and EU Commission President Barroso officially announced their intention to launch bilateral negotiations on a Transatlantic free trade pact between the EU and the US.
