COCIR made its partnership with environmental consultancy ENVIRON official on 22 October 2008, with the signature of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two organisations for work on environmental policy areas.

ENVIRON launched the BOMcheck web tool to help suppliers comply with EU chemicals legislation REACH and the hazardous substances regulation RoHS.  COCIR's Environmental Focus Group has cooperated with ENVIRON on BOMcheck.  In addition, a REACH guide has been produced for component suppliers and equipment manufacturers.  The guide explains REACH and highlights where substances of concern may be found.
