COCIR fully supports the underlying aims of the Directive on the Restriction of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) – to contribute to the protection of human health and the sound recovery and disposal of waste electrical and electronic equipment. COCIR also supports the Commission proposal to extend the scope of the proposal to medical devices (category 8).

In view of the upcoming European Parliament Environment Committee vote, COCIR and other leading European trade associations ask for MEPs' support to ensure that key issues for our industry are taken into account in order to secure both environmental objectives and the Better Regulation agenda of the EU Institutions.
